Как выбрать один дочерний элемент с помощью jQuery?

Использование jQuery как выбрать один дочерний элемент? Я посмотрел API-интерфейс Traversing и знаю, что я могу выбрать все непосредственные дочерние элементы img, как это:

$(this).children('img');

И чтобы выбрать первый дочерний элемент img, я мог бы использовать следующий индекс:

$(this).children('img')[0];

Но я, наверное, удивлен, что не могу этого сделать:

$(this).child('img'); // no subscript, returns single element

Или я что-то пропустил?

Нет. Каждая функция jQuery возвращает объект jQuery, и именно так оно и работает. Это ключевая часть магии jQuery.

Если вы хотите получить доступ к базовому элементу, у вас есть три варианта...

  • Не используйте jQuery
  • Используйте [0] для ссылки на него

  • Расширьте jQuery, чтобы делать то, что вы хотите...

    $.fn.child = function(s) {
    return $(this).children(s)[0];
}

Я думаю, что вы хотите сделать это:

$(this).children('img').eq(0);

это даст вам объект jquery, содержащий первый элемент img, тогда как

$(this).children('img')[0];

предоставит вам сам элемент img.
