У меня нет прямой зависимости от слабого или node -gyp, но я предполагаю, что это требуется для моих других зависимостей (express, phantom, ejs, aws-sdk, moment). Кто-нибудь столкнулся с такой проблемой и смог исправить?

Это то, что сработало. Во время установки вам понадобится python 2.6.

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:fkrull/deadsnakes
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install python2.6
sudo update-alternatives --install /usr/bin/python python /usr/bin/python2.6 20
sudo update-alternatives --install /usr/bin/python python /usr/bin/python2.7 10

#you can switch between 2.6 & 2.7 using:
sudo update-alternatives --config python

#Btw I installed node using ppa:chris-lea/node.js

Если ваша версия python не является источником ошибки, проверьте, установлен ли "gyp". Это противоречит версии gyp в node -gyp.

FWIW, у меня была аналогичная проблема с попыткой установить Protractor на Ubuntu 14.04 (DigitalOcean). Переустановка node -gyp исправила его:

apt-get install node-gyp
