Как исключить зависимости из плагина сборки maven: jar-with-dependencies?

Плагин сборки Maven позволяет создавать большую банку, включая все зависимости с дескрипторомRef jar-with-dependencies.

Как можно исключить некоторые из этих зависимостей? Кажется, у него нет такой конфигурации? Есть ли другое решение?

В этом примере указан один из способов сделать это:

 <dependencySets>
    <dependencySet>
      ....
      <excludes>
        <exclude>commons-lang:commons-lang</exclude>
        <exclude>log4j:log4j</exclude>
      </excludes>
    </dependencySet>
    ....
  </dependencySets>

По сути, мы будем использовать опцию excludes, доступную в dependencySet.

Добавьте <scope>provided</scope> к зависимостям, которые вы не хотите включать в jar-with-dependencies, например
