Ответ Tadas правильный, но для тех, кому нужен больше контекста, вы можете сделать что-то вроде этого: нижеприведенная модель создает только миниатюры для определенных типов файлов (например, не создает эскизы аудиофайлов), но делает создавать эскизы для PDF файлов, файлов изображений и видеофайлов:

Я думаю, что когда-то он работал, применяя тип файла, например.

:thumb => ["100x100#", :png]

конечно, это не идеально, потому что он обеспечивает этот тип файла для каждой загрузки

Поскольку это самый полный источник информации, который, как мне показалось, имеет вложенный PDF файл, я хотел бы дополнительно документировать его:

Требования:

• imagemagick
• ghostscript (я забыл об этом)
• (необязательно) ffmpeg, если вы хотите обрабатывать видеофайлы.

Также я заменил has_default_image? и apply_post_processing? на сингл:

Наконец, я создал метод для небабличных вложений:
