Получить серийный номер жесткого диска (и NOT Volume) на Vista Ultimate 64 бит

Я когда-то искал серийный номер жесткого диска без использования WMI, и я нашел его. qaru.site/info/507898/..., очень хорошо работает на 32-битных Windows, как XP, так и Vista. Проблема возникает только тогда, когда я пытаюсь получить серийный номер на 64-битных ОС (Vista Ultimate 64, в частности). Код возвращает String.Empty или пробел все время.

Возможно, вы захотите использовать неуправляемый API для Windows:

вызвать GetVolumeInformation api с соответствующей структурой и найти целочисленное поле VolumeSerialNumber.

Этот API существует уже давно и работал у меня с Windows 98. К сожалению, не могу проверить его на x64.

Вы можете видеть правильный серийный номер с помощью других инструментов Windows? Кстати: '0' - действительный серийный номер! Это может произойти, если образ диска был восстановлен из резервной копии или что-то в этом роде.
